Michela Cattai

Abstract artwork in Murano glass.

Michela Cattai is an Italian artist working between Milan and Venice, whose practice explores the sculptural and expressive potential of glass.

Working at the intersection of painting and sculpture, Cattai employs glass to construct visual structures in which color, depth, and transparency generate spatial and perceptual tension.

Between contemporary glass and classical statuary, a plastic tension unfolds where vitreous matter transcends stillness, emerging as form shaped by light and depth.

Through experimentation and inclusions in glass, the Archeomateria series, stratifies memory within matter, generating a dialogue between time, light, and the forms of classical statuary.
